As the dust settles after our 50th Anniversary celebrations it’s time to reflect on some highlights of what was a brilliant day .
In the run up to the event, local media were interested in sharing our story and we had both Radio Cymru here and a TV crew from S4C’s Heno programme . These both followed groups in the centre and on activities whilst also portraying our long and successful history .
We hit the jackpot with stunning weather which no doubt contributed to the large numbers of people that came to enjoy the day . There was something for everyone ….. historical displays , centre activities, running and biking races and lots of great food . What was noticeable was that most families came and stayed all day as there was so much for children to do . It showed us at our very best and was a great opportunity for people who have been associated with the service through the years to come and see recent developments . It was a chance to reflect on the past 50 years and also to show that we are very much looking forward to the future and continuing to provide high quality residential Outdoor Education to the children of North East Wales .
We owe huge thanks to everyone who helped out in the run up to the event and on the day itself to ensure it was such a success . It was also great to have the support on the day from so many people with the council and local authority. Many people will have purchased commemorative T-Shirts or Mugs , others may have missed out . If you would like to buy either of these, contact the centre and we can arrange for them to be sent out.
